else
•Color, hardness, taste
•Ability to conduct heat, sound, or
electricity
•Any measurements
2. Matter
•anything that has
mass and takes up
space
•the “stuff” that things
are made of
3. MASS
•the amount of matter in
something
•ALL matter has mass!
•measured in grams (g).
•does not change - no
matter where you go!
4. Weight
•a measure of the
force of gravity on an
object
•measured in newtons
•changes based on
the pull of gravity
5. VOLUME
•amount of space an object takes up
•we will most often measure in milliliters
(mL), but liters (L) is the standard unit
•measure liquids with graduated cylinder
