Introduction
Some Types Of Non-Contact Thermal
Sensors Are as Follows : -

 Optical Pyrometers

 Fiber Optic Temperature Sensor

 Infrared Thermometers
Electrocrypts
 Thermal Imagining method

Infrared Thermometers
 An infrared thermometer is a thermometer which
infers temperature from a portion of the thermal
radiation.
 The design essentially consists of a lens to focus
the infrared thermal radiation on to a detector.
 They have a measurement error of about ±2 °C or
±4 °F
 The ideal target area should be at least twice the
size of the spot at that distance.
 This thermometers are being massively used to
britannica
check the temperature of a covid 19 patient and of
common people as well.

Proper Use of NCITs
 Holding the NCIT sensing area perpendicular to the forehead and instruct
the person to remain stationary during measurement.
 Keep the distance between the NCIT and forehead specific as per told in
the manual.
 Do not touch the sensing area of the NCIT and keep the sensor clean and
dry.

Fiber optic Temperature sensors
The fiber optic temperature sensors are mainly classified into two
types : -

 Interferometric

 Non-interferometric

Optical Pyrometers
 It works on the principle of matching the
brightness of an object to the brightness of
the filament which is placed inside the
pyrometer.

 It is used to measure the temperature of

furnaces, molten metals, and other
overheated material or liquids.

Benefits of Thermal Imaging Systems

 The handler need not to be near the thing or the person.

 This system is able to measure surface skin

temperature faster typical thermometer.

 It measures surface skin temperature very accurately.

It is a much more safer way than typical measuring

methods.

Limitations of Thermal Imaging Systems
 We cannot use this method for mass temperature screening, as it is not that
much effective when we measure temperature of multiple people at same time.

 These systems measure surface skin temperature, which is usually lower than a
temperature measured orally. Thermal imaging systems must be adjusted
properly to correct for this difference in measurements.

 These systems work effectively only when all the following are true:
 The systems are used in the right environment or location.
 The systems are set up and operated correctly.
 The person being assessed is prepared according to instructions.
 The person handling the thermal imaging system is properly trained.

Conclusions
 There are many devices used to measure the temperature of covid-
19 patients.

 There have been a lot of positive modification in this field after the
COVID-19 outbreak.

 Infrared Thermometers, Thermal imagining system, Optical

Pyrometers are some of the methods used to measure temperature
without getting in contact with patient(COVID-19) or with the
things.
