INTRODUCTION
• Constellations and astrology have been fascinating
people for centuries. They are formed by the
patterns of stars in the sky and were used in the
past for navigation and to mark the changing
seasons. Astrology is the belief that the positions of
celestial bodies at the time of a person's birth can
impact their personality and life.
OBJECTIVES:
1. To explore the relationship between constellations
and astrology, and how this has influenced beliefs
and practices in different cultures.
2. To have practical understanding of beliefs and
practices about constellations and astrology.
3. To evaluate the importance of preserving and
promoting cultural beliefs and practices related to
constellations and astrology.
WHAT ARE BELIEFS AND
PRACTICES?
BELIEFS - are convictions or acceptance of certain
doctrines or principles as true, often without evidence or
proof.

PRACTICES - are the actions or conduct in accordance


with these beliefs. They refer to the habits, customs, or
behaviors that are performed regularly as a part of a
particular culture, religion, or belief system.
Beliefs shape practices, and
practices reinforce beliefs.

creatures. For example, the

by the gods.

events.
•In some indigenous cultures, it is

the Philippines during the months of
April and May. Farmers interpreted
the appearance of Gemini as the end of
planting season and it signified rich
harvest.
• Star gazing is the practice
of observing the night sky
and identifying different
constellations. People have
been doing this for
thousands of years to
understand the patterns of
the stars and to make
predictions about the future.
• In ancient time, People used
the stars and constellations to
tell stories and create mythical
legends. These stories were used
to explain the world around
them and provided a way to
remember important cultural
beliefs and values.
