Countable / count nouns Uncountable / Uncount nouns

• Nouns which we can count. • Nouns which we can not count.

Definite Article the

Is used with singular or plural nouns. Is used with countable and uncountable
nouns.
e.g. The girl / the girls e.g. The music / the laptops

a / an are used before singular countable a Is used before nouns which begin with
nouns. a consonant sound.
e.g. a girl / a girls e.g. a dolphin / a house
