The argumentative essay is a genre of
writing that requires students to
investigate a topic; collect, generate, and
evaluate evidence; and establish a
position on the topic in a concise manner.

persuasive and logical text that tries to
change the readers’ minds by convincing
them to agree with the writer’s point of
view.

An argument merely refers to your reason or
explanation with the aim of persuading
others to support your stand.
