HOW TO STUDY

Identify, think, visualize, analyze, solve

Matching with real life example

Mathematics is an Art, But I am going to make it a comedy so that you can feel the math in
your daily life.
Today, we are going to discuss some basic things of mathematics.
My ninja technique to solve any math……………….

We are in this room. It’s area is 300 . Length is 3 times greater than the width. Height is 2 times greater than width.
Find the volume of this room.
Relax Students,
Volume, Surface area and Symmetry

We are going to learn,

1. Calculating the volume of prisms
2. Calculating the surface area of triangular prisms, pyramids and cylinders
3. Symmetry in the three dimensional shape
Area is the amount of space taken up by a two-dimensional shape.
Volume is the amount of space taken up by a two-dimensional shape.

We need to learn the area of different shape in order to apply it in our daily life.
1. Circle
2. Rectangle
3. Triangle
4. Rhombus
5. Cylinder
6. Prism
Area of circle and sphere:

There are some basic term in circle such as,

1. Circumference
2. Radius
3. Arc
Now, Surface area of 3D objects:

There are several surfaces on a 3D object.

Total surface area of a 3D object is the sum of all surfaces.

There are six surface in a cuboid.

So, Total Surface area is, S = + + + + +
Today, we are going to learn about the volume of different shapes.

Volume is the property of 3D object. Total area covered by a 3D object the volume.

Volume = Cross sectional area × height

For a cube or cuboid,
Area = Length × width
So, Volume = Area × height
= Length × width × height
Similarly, in case of prism and cylinder, the formula of these shape is,
Three dimensional shapes can be symmetrical.

Mirrored half means congruent

half.
This cuboid has three planes of
symmetry:
two vertical
planes
one horizontal
plane

Each plane of symmetry divides the

cuboid into two congruent parts
which are the mirror image of each
other.
