Soil pollution is also one of the
causes of land pollution or both can
be interchangeably used.
It is land degradation that is
caused by chemicals or other
changes in the natural soil
environment.
Certain industrial activities , agricultural chemicals and improper
waste disposal are some of the major factors contributing to soil
pollution.
Other reasons for land pollution include deforestation , garbage
accumulation , low soil fertility , reforestation , climatic changes , etc.
Causes of Soil
Pollution
Overuse of fertilisers and herbicides in
agriculture
Dumping of industrial waste and harmful
chemicals
Improper domestic waste management system
Run off of municipal sewage water
Improper irrigation management leading to
poor soil quality
Effect of soil pollution
● Degradation of fertaie soil

● Health issues as a reasult of Biomagnification

● Inferior agricultural produce quality

● Destrucation of soil acosystem

Noise
pollution
It refers to the excessive amount of sound in
the surroundings disrupting the natural
balance. The acceptable amount of sound is
about 60 to 65 decibels, which is the same as
our everyday conversation.
Sound levels above 85 decibels are harmful
depending on the duration of exposure. Noise
above 140 decibels can cause permanent
hearing loss. Also, the duration of exposure to
the sound is found to have negative health
impacts.
Causes
• Noise from heavy machines in factories,
mills, and industries
• Traffic noise from vehicles (trains and
buses) and airplanes
• Construction noises from boring and
drilling machines
• Noise from firecrackers and loudspeakers
in social events
• Household noises from television, mixer
grinders, and music systems
Effects
• It may cause hypertension.
• Blood pressure problems.
• An increase in stress level.
• Leads to anxiety.
• Loss of hearing.
Sollution
• Lower the volume to avoid unnecessary
noise pollution,

• stop using loudspeaker late at night,

• strictly follow the noise pollution limits,

• near sensitive zones like hospitals, we

should put up boards and check the level of
noise.
