BIM definition

BIM, or Building Information Modeling, encompasses various

interpretations, but fundamentally, it serves as a
mechanism enhancing cooperation among diverse parties
involved in every stage of a building's existence. It
facilitates the collective effort aimed at enhancing the
effectiveness of construction endeavors. Central to the BIM
approach is the creation of a comprehensive model housing
all pertinent building data.

Tank & Tankless
● Stores and heats a fixed amount of water ● Instant Water Heater

● Are fuelled by electricity, natural gas ● Water heats directly as it flows

● Hot water supply is limited to tank size ● Energy Efficient

● Requires time to refill and reheat water ● Space-Saving

Tank Water Heaters

Advantages Disadvantages

Adequate Store Water Supply Limited Capacity

Lower Initial Cost High Energy Consumption

Simple to use Space Requirements

Tankless Water Heaters

Advantages Disadvantages

Energy Efficiency Higher Initial Cost

Continuous Hot Water Limited Flow Rate

Space Saving Complex Installation

Types of Water Heaters

Electrical Tank/Tankless Water Heater Gas Tank/Tankless Water Heater

Types of Water Heaters

Heat Pump Water Heater Solar Water Heater

Electrical Water Heaters
It consists of heating elements, a thermostat, and safety
features. The heating elements, typically made of
copper or stainless steel, are immersed in the water
inside the tank. When electricity flows through the
elements, they generate heat, raising the temperature of
the water

Advantages Disadvantages
Widely Available Higher Operating Cost
Easily Installed Slow Heating Process
Lower Initial Cost Low Energy Efficient
Simple To Use Rely On Electricity
Gas Water Heaters
They rely on natural gas or propane as their energy
source to heat wate, They feature a burner that heats the
water in a storage tank, known for their fast heat-up for
water

Advantages Disadvantages
Faster Heating Higher Initial Cost
High Energy Efficiency Requires Venting
Lower Operating Cost Not Available Everywhere
Works During Power Cuts Safety Concerns
Heat Pump Water Heaters
They uses the principles of heat pump technology to
efficiently heat water, They extract heat from the
surrounding air and transfer it to the water similar to
that of a refrigerator or air conditioner

Advantages Disadvantages
High Energy Efficiency Higher Initial Cost
Absorbs moisture Space Requirements
Cost Savings Issues In Cold Weather
Safe & Eco-Friendly Noise similar to refrigerator
Solar Water Heaters

They consist of solar collectors that absorb solar

radiation and transfer the heat to a storage tank, They
can significantly reduce energy consumption and
operating costs over the long term.

Advantages Disadvantages
Renewable Energy Source Higher Initial Cost
Long-Term Investment Space Requirements
Cost Savings Depends on Weather/Sunlight
Environmental Benefits Requires backup heating system
Conclusion

There are several types of water heaters available, each

with its own features, advantages, and disadvantages.
Electrical Water heaters are the most common and
affordable option because of its availability but have
higher energy consumption, Factors such as: Energy
Efficiency – Fuel Availability – Initial Cost – Hot Water
Demand – Space Requirements – Climate Conditions.
Determines the best water heater to proceed with it.
