Romanticism
Romanticism is a literary
movement spanning roughly 1800- 1850.
Romantic literary criticism played a
crucial role in shaping the way literature
was analyzed and appreciated focusing
on the emotional, imaginative, and
individualistic aspects of literary works.

Jane Austen
Jane Austen was an English novelist
known for her works of romantic fiction,
particularly her six major novels, including “Pride
and Prejudice,” “Sense and Sensibility,” and
“Emma.” She was born on December 16, 1775, and
died on July 18, 1817. Austen’s novels are known
for their witty social commentary, realistic
portrayals of the lives of the gentry in 18th- century
England, and strong female characters. Her works
continue to be widely read and studied today, and
she is considered one of the greatest writers in

What is the story about?

The turbulent relationship between Elizabeth
