VOLLEYBALL
• Volleyball is a team game where the aim is to hit the ball
towards the opponent's field to get points.
• The general definition of volleyball is a sport played by two
teams, each consisting of six people, who face each other
on a square field. The goal is to get the ball into the
opponent's area by throwing the ball over the net. This
game requires precise coordination between team members
to send the ball in the right direction and prevent the ball
from falling in their own area.
VOLLEYBALL HISTORY
• The history of volleyball takes us back to the late 19th century,
where the sport first appeared in the United States.
• After appearing in the US, volleyball spread quickly to
countries around the world. In 1957, the Fédération
Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) was founded as the
international governing body for the sport, helping to accelerate
its growth and popularity on a global scale. Volleyball's
participation in the first Olympic Games in 1964 in Tokyo was
also a historic milestone in cementing its status as an
internationally recognized sport.
