The inflates balloon that slipped from the hand of

Renn has a volume of 0.50 L at sea level ( 1.0 atm )
and it reach a height of approximately 8 km where
the atmosphere pressure is approximately 0.33 atm.
Assuming that the temperature is constant, compute
for the final volume of the balloon.
INITIAL CONDITIONS FINAL CONDITIONS

V1= 0.50 L V2= ?

P1= 1.0 atm P2= 0.33 atm

What are the different
application of Boyle’s Law?
• As the diver moves down to the bottom
of the water, the pressure increases.
Increasing pressure leads to a decrease
in volume, and the diver’s blood begins
to absorb the nitrogen gas. The
opposite happens when the diver starts
to rise again, and the nitrogen gas
molecules begin to expand and return
to its volume.
INITIAL CONDITIONS FINAL CONDITIONS

V1= 56.11 mL V2= ?

T1= 311K T2= 400 K

An inflated balloon with a volume of 0.75 L at
30 degrees Celsius was placed inside the freezer
where the temperature is -10 degrees Celsius.
Find out what will happen to the volume of the
balloon if the pressure remains constant.
What are the different
application of Charles’s Law?
• For manufacturing bakery
products, yeast is used for
fermentation, which produces
carbon dioxide. When we bake any
bread or cake, carbon dioxide
expands because of the increase in
temperature, and that is why bread
and cakes have a fluffy appearance
and texture.
