PARAGRAPH 1

这是一个炎热的下午

It was a scorching hot afternoon. The afternon sun shot its brilliant rays
everywhere.

参加完一个讲座后我走路回家

I was on my way home after attending a seminar.

* I made my way home on foot after attending a seminar
3.
我加快步伐因为肚子很饿

As I was famished, I quickened my pace so that I could reach home as fast as

possible.
* I fastened/ quickened my pace, wishing to reach home as fast as possible and
stay in the air-conditioned room.

PARAGRAPH 2
1 我看到一辆驾驶快速的货车。

Meanwhile, I saw a van travelling at high speed.

2 同时，对岸有一辆摩托车要转进十字路口但他没有注意到货车。

听到巨响，货车尝试避开摩托车。
无法及时停下
撞向摩托司机

At the same time, a motorcycle on the other side was going to turn into a
crossroad but the motorcyclist did not notice the oncoming van.
Then, I heard a loud screech as the diver of the van tried to avoid the motorcyclist.
Unfortunately, the driver of the van was unable to stop in the nick of time.
Thus, he rammed into the motorcyclist.

3 我被吓到了
. I was stunned at what I witnessed at the critical moment. It made the hair on my
arms stand on end.
 PARAGRAPH 3

当我走进，我看见他们流了很多血。

As I went nearer/ approached the victims, I saw them

bleeding profusely.
• Blood was oozing out from their wound.
• The motorcyclist had lost his consciousness and he was lying
in a pool of blood.

2.
他们都受了重伤。

The motorcyclist was injured badly.

* Severe injury could be seen on his limbs.

3.
可怜的摩托骑士痛苦地呻吟因为实在太痛了。

The poor van driver moaned in pain as the pain in him was
unbearable.
• Fortunately, he only had multiple abrasions but no broken
bones.

4.
我用附近的公共电话打给救护车。

Without any hesitation, I ran to the nearest telephone booth to

make a call for an ambulance and police as well. I gave them brief
information about our location.
PARAGRAPH 4

几分钟后，我听到救护车的声音。
Minutes later, I heard a loud wail of siren.
• Shortly afterwards, a loud wail of siren could be heard/ rang behind
my ears.

警察车和救护车都同时来到现场。
The police and ambulance arrived at the scene at the same time.

警察紧急封路。
The police cordoned off the road/area as many passers-by were at the
scene.

同时，医务人员把伤者放在轮床上。
Meanwhile, the paramedics acted quickly and carried the victims onto the
gurneys./stretcher

他们接着前往医院。
Then, they were admitted to the hospital.
• They were rushed to the hospital in a lightning speed.
• = They were hospitalised/admitted to the hospital in a lightning
speed.

接着， 警察录了我的口供，因为我是目击者。
Then, the police also took witness statements as I witnessed the incident.

我松了一口气
I was relieved when the driver of the car was sent to the hospital and
continued my way home.
PARAGRAPH 5
1. After the incident, I thought about ways to prevent road accidents from
happening.

2. In my conclusion, the road users should follow the rules and regulations
on the road at all times. We can't overspeed as it is not only bring
dangerous to ourselves but also endanger the safety of the other traffic
users. We should pay attention to the situation on the road before taking
any action.

3. I think all of the users should emphasize on this issue to prevent road
accident from happening.
