BLOTTER) A blotter is an official logbook that contains the daily registry of all crime incident reports, officials summaries of arrest, and other significant events reported in a police station. (Bgy. Blotter) What report should be entered in a Bgy. Blotter? All report/s of cases that are cognizable by barangay under R.A. 7160 (Local Government Code of the Philippines). Ex. Cases involving minor, R.A. 9262, Content of Bgy. Blotter A blotter should content 5W and 1H. WHAT (What answer the question of the nature of the incident/event) WHERE (Place of incident) WHEN (Time and Date of the incident) WHO (The name of the victim, the suspects and possible witnesses) WHY (Motive of the incident. The reason why the incident was committed) HOW (Answer the way the offense was committed) BLOTTER PROCEDURE Before entry into the blotter book, the DUTY OFFICER (DO) should evaluate first the report if it is an incident cognizable by barangay. If it is cognizable by barangay, then, write the incident by answering the 5W and 1H. > After accomplishing the blotter entry, be sure that it must be sign by the complainant. >Be sure also that the page number and blotter entry number should be in proper order. >Avoid deterring or defacing pages in the barangay blotter. Remember that it contains official report of an incident. Thank you
