Introduction
Suggestopedia was initially developed in the 1970s by the
Bulgarian educator Georgi Lozanov. The approach based
on the power of suggestion in learning, the notion being
that positive suggestion would make the students more
receptive and, in turn, stimulate learning.
DEFINITION
• The name suggestopedia combines the terms
suggestion and pedagogy

• Suggestopedia is a language teaching method based


on the idea that learning can be accelerated and
enhanced by creating a relaxed and positive learning
environment and by using techniques that tap into the
learner's subconscious mind
