• Predecessor is the number that comes

previous number.

• Step-I : Compare the number of digits in the given
numerals.
• Step-II : If both have same number of digits
compare the digits at greatest place.
• Step-III : If they are same, compare the next place
and so on ......
• Exp: 3547 & 3574 , In th. Place 3=3 , hundreds
place 5=5 but in tens place 4<7, hence
• 3547 < 3574
