FUTURE TENSES

The future can be expressed in different ways:

GOING TO

We use going to to express plans or intentions (1) and


predictions based on present circumstances (2).

(1)We are going to have breakfast.


(2)It´s sunny. It’s going to be a warm day.

WILL

We use will for decisions made at the moment of speaking


(1), offers (2), promises (3) and predictions (4).

(4)Someday people will travel to other planets.

We use the present continuous for future arrangements


(usually when time is mentioned).

I’m meeting Greg at five in front of the library.

We use the present simple for timetables (1) and after


when, before, etc. (2).
