Photography- is said to be a method of picture-
making that stated in the early 19th century.
Photography-comes from Greek words that mean
"drawing with light." which serves as scientific
evidence, conveyers of news, historical documents,
works of art, and records of family life. To date,
millions of people around the world own cameras
and enjoy taking pictures. Every year, more than 10
billion exposures are made with still cameras.

Digital cameras- today's digital technology make
it possible to take photographs without film.
There are sophisticated and there are simple
point and shoot digital cameras. Many good
pictures have also been produced using a smart
phone camera. Because of modern day
technological advancements, most gadgets
available around us can be used for photography.
Computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones
usually have built-in cameras.

Practical Tips in Taking Pictures
1. Try to find a camera that you can use and practice
with. If you do not have one, borrow from a friend or a
family member. The built-in camera of a smartphone is a
good substitute.
2. Get to know your camera. Whether it is a DSLR, a
point-and-shoot camera, or a built-in phone camera, it
will help you to do techniques if you know its features
and what it can do. Read the manual, and explore the
features by trying them out to find out what they can do.

3. Look for opportunities for taking photographs—in a mall, in
an arcade, in a car, or in your room. You will never know when
the next photo of yours will be. Photography can be
spontaneous at times. You might regret it if you did not have
your camera at hand when something random or momentous
happens.
4. Use your camera at different times of the day—when you
wake up in the morning, during an activity in school or at
home with the family, and even before going to bed. Use your
camera to document a particularly interesting occurrence or a
simple one, which you think is worth some attention. 23
5. Do not make photography a hindrance to what you are doing.
Make photography a part of your
life.
6. Observe your subject or topic as close as possible. What messages
or stories accompany them?
7. Do not worry about rules for now. Experimenting is essential in
photography when you are starting. Remember to take good care of a
borrowed camera.
8. Focus, lighting, and distance affect the quality of photos taken with
a point-and-shoot or phone camera.
9. Try to get as close as you can to your subject, especially if you are
using a phone camera.
