LESSON 10: FOUR TYPES

OF SENTENCES

1. Declarative Sentence
 a sentence that makes a statement or
information. It ends with period (.)
Example:
My mom is beautiful

He plays basketball.


2. Interrogative Sentence
 Ask a question or request for information; end
with a question mark (?)
Example:
Who is your teacher?

What is your favorite subject?


3. Exclamatory Sentence
 Shows emphasis or a strong and sudden
feeling; end with an exclamation point (!)
Example:
Wow, that's awesome!

Yey! We won!
4. Imperative sentence
 Gives a command or makes a request.
 Strong Command (!)
 Mild command (.)

A. To give an ORDER.
 Keep quiet!
 Marco up your room.
B. To make a REQUEST.
 Give me some sweet, please.
 Please come quickly.

C. To give INSTRUCTIONS.
 Turn the table clockwise.
 Disconnect the power supply.
D. To give ADVICE.
 Drive carefully.
 Take a taxi.
