INTRODUCTION

o India is one among the oldest

countries which is still
practicing agriculture. But in
recent times the trends in
agriculture has drastically
evolved due to globalization.

o Various factors have affected

the health of agriculture in
India.
• Many new technologies have been evolved to
regain the health of agriculture.
z
One such technique is precision agriculture.
Precision agriculture is budding in India

• Precision agriculture is the technology of

“site-specific” farming.

• It has provided us with the advantage of

efficient input, output and better decisions
regarding farming.

• Recommendation of crops is dependent on

various parameters.

• Precision agriculture aims in identifying these

parameters in a site-specific manner in order
to resolve issues regarding crop selection.
 OBJECTIVE

 We aim to build an end to end project

which recommends the most suitable
z
crop based on input parameters like
Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P),
Potassium (K), PH value of soil,
Humidity, Temperature, and Rainfall.
 METHODOLOGY

1. Data Collection:
The dataset consists of parameters like Nitrogen(N),
Phosphorous(P), Potassium(K), PH value of soil, Humidity,
Temperature and Rainfall.
z
The datasets have been obtained from the Kaggle
website(dataset). The dataset has 2200 instances of data
that have been taken from the historic data.

This dataset includes different crops such as rice, maize,

chickpea, kidney beans, pigeon peas, moth beans,
moonbeam, black gram, lentil, pomegranate, banana,
mango, grapes, watermelon, muskmelon, apple, orange,
papaya, coconut, cotton, jute, and coffee.
z
2. Data Preprocessing :

The dataset will be analyzed where we try to

tackle any possible problems in the dataset.

Also the correlation between the features and the

target variable will be found and we will select the
best features that will help better for the
recommendation.
z
3. Trying out different models :

We will try different Machine Learning

algorithms like Decision Tree,
Naïve Bayes (NB),
Support Vector Machine (SVM),
Logistic Regression (LR),
Random Forest (RF),
XGBoost etc..., the best performing
model will be selected and we will further
finetune its hyperparameters.
z
4. Frontend for the model :

After the model is built successfully, we

plan to build a frontend for this model
where we will basically develop a web
page so has to make this project end to
end.
z
 Expected Result

We intend to get a ML model that can

recommend crop to its user with high
accuracy.
