WHAT IS
COMPUTER?
A COMPUTER IS A
MACHINE THAT ACCEPTS
DATA AS INPUT,
PROCESSES THAT DATA
USING PROGRAMS, AND
OUTPUTS THE PROCESSED
DATA AS INFORMATION.
MANY COMPUTERS CAN

DRIVES
The Basic Structure of A Computer System
Consists of Three Parts
1. CPU
Performs arithmetic and logic operations
2. INPUT – OUTPUT DEVICES (Peripherals)
allow the computer system to interact with the
outside world.
Keyboard, Monitor, Modem, Mouse, Joystick,
Speakers, Printers, etc.
3. MEMORY
Primary – directly accessible by the CPU.
Secondary – external memory for storing data.
Computer Hardware
The physical components of a
computer system, such as the
circuit boards, chassis, enclosures,
peripherals, cables, etc.

It does not include data or

computer programs.
TYPES OF

Capability)
TYPES OF
MICRO
COMPUTER
• A desktop computer is
a personal computer
designed for regular
use at a single location
on or near a desk or
table due to its size and
power requirements.
