• Asylum :1. the protection granted by a state to someone who has left
their home country as a political refugee.
2. an institution for the care of people who are mentally ill.
• Agrophobia : 1. extreme or irrational fear of entering open or crowded
places, of leaving one's own home, or of being in places from which escape
is difficult.
2. is a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and avoid places or
situations that might cause you to panic and make you feel trapped, helpless
or embarrassed.
Ambivalence is a state of having simultaneous conflicting reactions, beliefs,
or feelings towards some object.
Anger is an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or
something you feel has deliberately done you wrong. It can give you a way to
express negative feelings
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts
and physical changes like increased blood pressure.
Anxiety is a mental state of both distress and arousal set off by sensing
uncertain danger.
Catalepsy 1. is a nervous condition characterized by muscular rigidity and fixity
of posture regardless of external stimuli, as well as decreased sensitivity to
pain.
2.a state of sustained unresponsiveness in which a fixed body posture or
physical attitude is maintained over a long period of time.
Catatonia is a group of symptoms that usually involve a lack of movement and
communication, and also can include agitation, confusion, and restlessness.
Until recently, it was thought of as a type of schizophrenia.
• Clouding of consciousness is a very mild form of altered mental status in
which the patient has inattention and reduced wakefulness. Confusional
state is a more profound deficit that includes disorientation,
bewilderment, and difficulty following commands.
• Defence mechanism is an unconscious psychological mechanism that
reduces anxiety arising from unacceptable or potentially harmful stimuli.
• Denial is a defense mechanism proposed by Anna Freud which involves a
refusal to accept reality, thus blocking external events from awareness.
• Depersonalization, in psychology, a state in which an individual feels
that either he himself or the outside world is unreal.
• deja vu, occurs when we feel that a new situation is familiar, even if there is
evidence that the situation could not have occurred previously.
• ​disharmony a lack of agreement about important things, which causes bad
feelings between people or groups of people.
• Echolalia is the unsolicited repetition of vocalizations made by another
person (when repeated by the same person, it is called palilalia). In its
profound form it is automatic and effortless.
• Fear is an emotion induced by perceived danger or threat, which causes
physiological changes and ultimately behavioral changes, such as fleeing,
hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events.
• Grief can be described as the intense emotional and physical reaction that an
individual experiences following the death of a loved one.
