Phobias

Bibliophobia

Bibliophobia is an unusual phobia of

books. It can be broadly defined as the
fear of books, but it also refers to a fear
of reading or reading out loud or in
public.
Domatophobia

Domatophobia is the fear of house or being in

a house. Sufferers may perceive homes to be
unsafe or repressive, especially after hearing
people got robbed or even murdered in their
home, either in real life or in movies.
Ombrophobia

Ombrophobia is the fear of rain- a fairly

common anxiety disorder seen in kids and
adults alike. The term Ombrophobia originates
from Greek ‘Ombros’ meaning “storm of rain”
and phobos meaning “fear or aversion”.
Phobophobia

Phobophobia is less straightforward than other

phobias because you’re afraid of fear itself.
This adds an additional level of complexity to
anything you’re already naturally afraid of
because you’re afraid of the fear you feel
toward it.
Selenophobia
Selenophobia is an irrational fear of the
moon or its light. The word
Selenophobia is derived from Greek
Selene which stands for moon and
phobos meaning anxiety or aversion.
For the sufferer, even talking or
thinking about the moon can trigger
intense fear or anxiety and lead to a
full blown panic attack.
Anemophobia

Anemophobia, sometimes called

ancraophobia, is a sort of catch-all
term that encompasses a wide variety
of air-related phobias. Some people are
afraid of drafts, others of gusty winds.
Haphephobia

Haphephobia involves a fear of touch.

While uncommon, it is often a
devastating phobia. It is in the class of
phobias known as specific phobias,
which are fears of a specific object or
situation.
