INTRODUCTION
A online Library Automation System is a comprehensive software designed to
efficiently handle all aspects of library operations. Its primary purpose is to
facilitate librarians in maintaining a well-organized database of books, tracking
borrowed books, and managing due dates for members. By automating various
tasks, the system streamlines library activities and ensures seamless management
of library records. It enables librarians to effortlessly monitor the number of
books in the library, track book issuances, returns, and renewals, as well as
manage late fine charges. With this system, librarians can quickly find books,
issue or reissue them, and effectively manage all library data. The system's main
objective is to provide instant and accurate information about the availability and
status of any book, significantly reducing time and effort in library management.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The manual management of library operations and the final year clearance process at the
Library of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil has several
shortcomings.

 These include the

1) Inefficient record-keeping.
2) Inefficient book Borrowing and Return Process.
3) Delays in clearance approval.
4) Limited communication channels.

5) Fines have to be calculated manually.

6) Lack of efficient Book reservation channels.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE OF THE
STUDY
The primary aim of this study is to develop an Online Library Management System that
addresses the challenges faced by the University Library of Aliko Dangote University of
Science and Technology Wudil.

 The specific objectives include:

1) Automating the borrowing and returning of library materials.

2) Simplifying the final year Library clearance process for graduating students.
3) Improving communication and notification channels between library staff and students.
4) Automating fine payment for Lost books.

5) Implementing an automated fine system for overdue books

SCOPE

The study will focus on developing and implementing an Online Library Management
System for University Library of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology
Wudil. The scope includes the following key areas:

1) User registration and authentication.

2) Book management, including Book borrowing and returning.
3) Final year clearance process, including clearance requests, approvals, and
documentation. *****
4) Notification from Liberians to users.

5) Fine Management
METHODOLOGY

 The research project will employ a qualitative approach, using interviews, surveys, and
questionnaires as data collection methods to support system development. The
Waterfall model of system development will also be utilized, leveraging collaborative
efforts between users and developers and considering time constraints.
This system will be design and developed by the following tools.
 FRONTEND
HTML, CSS, JAVASCRPT
 BACKEND
MySQL, PHP

CONCLUSION

 In conclusion, after the thorough analysis and assessment of the system to be

designed, we confidently state that the Library Management System will be
efficient, user-friendly, and dependable. The system will perform optimally
and meet the initial expectations set for it. We expect the new system to bring
substantial benefits to both users and staff, enhancing the overall efficiency
and usability of the library operations. The successful implementation of this
system will revolutionize the library's management and provide a seamless
experience for all stakeholders involved.
