- refers to a social group of people living together in
a specific locality or not but linked together by
common values, beliefs, behavior, government,
sexual orientation, and shared a common identity
and belonging.

GEMEINSCHAFT
- Also called as communal society, it refers to human
associations that are characterized by being intimate,
informal, caring, homogenous, and group welfare-oriented.
GESELLSCHAFT
- Also called as associational society, it pertains to human
associations that are characterized by being impersonal,
formal, rational, heterogeneous, and individualistically
oriented.

Local Community
- It is a geographically bounded
community such as a village, city,
town, municipality, province,
region, and country.
GLOBAL COMMUNITY
- It characterizes the interconnectivity
of people or countries all over the
world.
URBAN
-Urban communities are
settlements that highly congested
because of the dense population
that can reach millions within a
limited space.

-Due to the volume of people,


buildings and other structures are
near each other and economic
centers, schools and leisure areas
are very near factories, office
spaces and markets.

-Some people are living in high-


rise buildings because of the
limited available space in the
area.
SUBURBAN
-Tread between urban and rural
communities. These settlements
are located in the outskirts of
urban areas and are less dense
than urban areas or are composed
of medium-sized population.

-Suburban areas are mostly


filled with houses, subdivisions
and private estates rather than
factories and shops.

-Access to schools and markets


are farther than in urban areas.

The buildings are low-to- mid-
rise and people live in houses
with large living spaces and
usually with yards.

- It is a hybrid merger of the characteristics
found in private and public sectors.
- It integrates social and environmental
