The AR Questions
ACTION RESEARCH QUESTIONS
1. BASELINE – What is the dropout rate of Sagrada NHS in school
year 2018-2019?
2. INTERVENTION – What is the effect of Project SMILE in
improving the dropout of Sagrada NHS?
3. LEVELS – What is the level of
effectiveness/acceptance/participation of project SMILE?
Expected Output
• Measurable Quantity

Decrease failure rate from 14 in school year

2018-2019 to zero (0) in school year
2019-2020.

Increase the Promotion rate from 98% in

school year 2018-2019 to 100% in school
year 2019-2020.
Action Research Questions
1. What is the reading proficiency level of 100 Grade 7 students of Sagrada
National High School for School Year 2018-2019?
2. What is the level of effectiveness of the Reading Intervention for Struggling
and Emergent (RISE) Reader Program to 100 Grade 7 students of Sagrada
National High School?
3. What is the effect of RISE Reader Program in the improvement of the reading
proficiency level of 100 Grade 7 students of Bagacay National High School?

EXPECTED OUTPUT:
Improved reading level of Grade 7 students of Sagrada National High School for
School Year 2018-2019 from 100 nonreaders to 100 independent readers.
The Interventions
INTERVENTIONS
• SHOW OWNERSHIP

What when where how WHy

ATTAINABLE

WOW Factor
• Hiking Society – help dropouts because of distance from home to school
such as La Medalla and Pag-asa. In the hiking society teachers will visit
students from far areas upon consultation with the adviser and guidance.
Share the experience of the learners and empathize with them. Through
the support of the teachers, the students will be encouraged to continue
going to school. To scale up the Hiking society, the school will also be
coordinating with 4Ps coordinators and LGU members upon every hiking
activity. This is done as monthly.
• Ambassador of Academic Instruction [AAI] - tackle student
dropouts because of lack of interest and low motivation. The AAI will
be a school level professional development scheme where the
teachers will share instructional materials, perform teaching
demonstrations and share teaching strategies. This will be done
every quarter to address the quarterly performance of the learners.
This will be enhanced during monthly LAC (learning action cells).
