curing illness, and provide cosmetics effects.(OTC and

RISKS OF OTC
• Pain reliever – (aspirin and ibuprofen)
can harm stomach lining and lead to ulcer, while large dosage can cause
kidney damage
• Acetaminophen (for fever and pain reliever for children)
If taken in large dosage, can cause bleeding and liver pain. This should
be taken with a full stomach and a glass of water to avoid irritation of
stomach lining.
• Prolonged use of Nasal Spray
it can cause blood vessels in the nose to swell and can worsen
congestion. This is called as the “Rebound effect” which can also
result to bleeding and loss of the sense of smell.
• Frequent use of Laxative
it destroys flora in the intestinal tract, making constipation even
worsen. Exercise and high fibers diet are safe alternatives for
promoting normal defecation.

COSMETICS PRODUCTS
• Skin Care
Moisturizers, Deodorants and Anti-perspirants
they help skin from drying and control body odor due to
sweating or excessive sweating.
Sweating is the primary means of cooling the body and it
should not be prevented because it is only natural.
• Hair Care
unwanted hair may present some dangers of infections when
adjacent skin is not clean. There will be a possibility of skin
irritations, reaction or infection because of the chemical.
Dermatologist
should always be consulted to prevent any skin reactions,
irritations and infections when ever chemical products are
used.
• Oral Care (toothpaste, mouth wash)
it helps to prevent dental cavities, bad odor or sore throat. Bad
breath may be symptoms of infections, tumors or diabetes.
Excessive use of mouth wash can dry the mucous membranes,
making the throat even more irritated.
