Raspberry PI Board
Raspberry Pi is a credit card-sized
computer developed by the Raspberry
Pi Foundation.
It is widely used for educational
projects, offering a low-cost, versatile
platform. Raspberry Pi models vary in
specifications, supporting diverse
applications.
Arduino UNO
Arduino is an open-source
electronics platform based on easy-
to-use hardware and software.
It allows users to create interactive
projects by connecting sensors,
actuators, and other devices.
Arduino boards are programmable
using the Arduino IDE which is
based on C/C++.
Relays
A Relay is an electrically operated
switch that controls the flow of current
between two or more circuits.
Relays are commonly used in various
applications, such as automation,
automotive systems, and electronic
devices, to control high-power circuits
with low-power signals.
External Power Supply Board
An external power supply, also
known as an adapter or Power
Supply Unit, is a device that
converts electrical power from a
mains power source into a suitable
form.
External power supplies come in
various forms including wall
adapters, desktop adapters, and
plug-in modules.
Sensors
Sensors are devices or components that detect changes in
physical, chemical, biological, or environmental conditions
and convert these changes into measurable signals.
These signals are typically electrical and can be further
processed for various applications. There are numerous
types of sensors, each designed to detect specific types of
stimuli.
The Project requires two sensors mainly. They are Current
Sensor and Voltage Sensor.
Voltage Sensor
A voltage sensor is an electrical device that
measures the voltage across a component or in a
circuit.
Voltage sensors play a crucial role in power
monitoring, energy management, and circuit
protection systems.
They provide essential information for controlling
and optimizing electrical systems, ensuring safe and
efficient operation.
Selection of the appropriate voltage sensor depends
on factors like voltage range, accuracy requirements,
and application-specific considerations.
Current Sensor
A current sensor is an electrical device used to
measure the flow of electric current in a circuit.
These sensors are crucial for monitoring and
controlling electrical systems, ensuring safe operation
and efficient energy management.
Current sensors can provide both analog and digital
outputs, enabling integration into various applications
such as motor control, power monitoring, and energy
management systems.
The choice of current sensor depends on factors like
the current range, accuracy requirements, and the
specific application's characteristics.
Mobile Phone
Mobile phones are handheld
electronic devices that enable voice
communication and text messaging.
Mobile phones use cellular networks
to facilitate wireless communication.
Controller App
Blynk is a platform that allows users
to control hardware remotely through a
smartphone app.
It provides a simple way to build IoT
projects without extensive coding
knowledge.
Blynk supports a wide range of
hardware platforms including Arduino,
Raspberry Pi, and ESP8266.
Advantages
This system shows the energy consumed on daily basis, hence
it helps to reduce the consumption by comparing the daily
usages.
It reduces the human interference to collect the
monthly reading and it also saves the time and money.
The Lifespan of equipment will be extended.
The Electrical hazards will be reduced by monitoring the
power usage.
Disadvantages
The Implementation of the project will be difficult due to
the upfronts of the cost
The Complexity of the project will be based on the area
of implementation
Conclusion
In conclusion, the implementation of electricity
control using a GSM module provides an efficient and
remote solution for managing electrical devices. This
project harnesses the power of mobile communication,
allowing users to control and monitor electricity usage
from anywhere with network coverage. The integration of
GSM technology not only enhances convenience but also
contributes to energy conservation and smart home
automation.
