INTRODUCTION
• Technology is a very important part of our life.
We can use this technology in a very
sophisticated area like safety and security
purpose.
• Using the smoke detector and alarm circuit be
conducive to save our life as well as
households from fire accidents which have
shown in this project.
• We design and develop an Arduino circuit with
a smoke detector, LCD Display and alarm.
• When the smoke detector detects smoke
there is a LCD Display which shows "Fire in
room!" and the alarm rings immediately.
• So someone can be aware about the fire
accidents even if he/she is in home at the
moment.

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
COMPONENTS
• Smoke detection circuit used here involves the following
components which plays vital importance in building the
circuit and the components are :

1. Smoke sensor module (MQ 2)

2.Arduino UNO R3 module
3. LCD Display
4. Buzzer
5.Resistors
6.Bread board
SMOKE SENSOR MODULE (MQ 2)

• A smoke sensor is a device that

senses smoke, typically as
an indicator of fire. Commercial
and residential security devices
issue a signal to afire alarm
control panel as part of a fire
alarm system, while household
detectors, known as smoke
alarms, generally issue a local
audible or visual alarm from
the detector itself.
ARDUINO-UNO R3
• Arduino Uno is one of the microcontroller boards
manufactured by the Arduino and based on the
Atmel’s ATmega328 microcontroller,“Uno” means
one in Italian and the uno board is the latest ina
series of USB.
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)

• LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is

an electronic display module and find a wide
range of applications. A 16x2 LCD display is
very basic module and is very commonly used
in various devices and circuits.
BUZZER

• Here buzzer is used for alarming purpose whenever

the smoke detecting circuit detects the smoke then
the buzzer will start buzzing here the buzzer used is
piezoelectric buzzer. A piezoelectric element may be
driven by oscillating electronic circuit or other audio
signal source, driven with a piezoelectric audio
amplifier.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
• The voltage that the sensor outputs changes
accordingly to the smoke/gas level that exists
in the atmosphere. The sensor outputs a
voltage that is proportional to the
concentration of smoke/gas.
• The greater the gas concentration, the greater
the output voltage.
• The lower the gas concentration, the lower
the output voltage.
ADVANTAGES
• User friendly: we can edit the code whenever
we want to change tone of the button.
• Efficiency: it uses less power of only 5v.
• Portable: it is very small to carry wherever you
go
• Future Enhancement: This technology could
be further modified and more upgraded as per
individual need and interest.
APPLICATIONS
• Smoke Detectors for Buildings.
• Smoke Detectors for Factory.
• Smoke Detectors for Fire Alarm System.
• Smoke Detectors for Fire Suppression Systems.
• Smoke Detectors for High Ceilings.
• Smoke Detectors for Homes.
• Smoke Detectors for Hospitals.
• Smoke Detectors for Kitchens.
FUTURE SCOPE
• There have been a number of advancements
to both decrease the time of detection while
at the same time decrease the activation of
the detector when the products of
combustion are not present.
• Smoke detectors and alarms are migrating
from just the detection of smoke, to
combination detectors and multicriteria
detectors.
CONCLUSION
• When it come to Fire safety, it's best to have a
smoke detector in every bedroom and hall
way, as well as on every floor in our home.
• With so many smoke detector ,we can rest
assured our home is protected from the
unthinkable.
• Smoke detector is one of the easiest and low
costly. Most of industries use it, because it
work fatly to protect and most effective .
