Her childhood ▣ She was born on November 30, 1874 in a village of Clifton, P.E.I. ▣ She was the daughter of Clara Woolner Montgomery and Hugh John. ▣ Clara, her mother dies when Lucy is only 21 months old and his father leaves her, so she gets raised by her grandparents. ▣ At the year of seven she moves to Prince Albert, and she teaches herself how to read. ▣ She wrote her first poem when she was 9. 3 2. Her adult life ▣ In 1895 Lucy went to Dalhousie University. ▣ One year later in 1896 she had to start teaching again due to a lack of money. ▣ Two years later her grandfather dies and goes back to her grandmother to help her for 13 years. ▣ Lucy’s father dies in 1900. ▣ In 1905 she got to know Ewan Mcdonald and they lived in 5 years of being engaged. Of Green Gables. It was written for all ages in 1908 and it’s set in the late 19 century. The story’s main charachter is Anne , a 11-12 year old orphan girl who gets adopted by accident. She becomes a Shirley-Cuthbert. This book also mentions feminism. 8 2. Her adult life ▣ In 1911 her grandmother dies and she bearly coped. ▣ She also got married on the 11th of July in 1911 with Ewan, after her grandma passed away. ▣ Their first son was born in 1912 , the second one was born in 1915. Unfortunately they would’ve had a third son in 1914 , but he died after he was born.
