GERUNDS
While some may have not been able to tackle about
this during their previous years, most people
unconsciously use this figure.

DEFINITION
Gerunds is a verb that acts as a noun. This means
that the action words, such as ‘biking’, ‘swimming’,
and ‘running’ may also become a thing. The verbs
usually end in –ing form.

GERUNDS
• Its function is to name an activity, etc. Or to
indicate as an object of preposition.
Example: “They are interested in learning
new languages”

• There are 6 types of gerunds involved.

indirect object, object of a preposition,
object complement)

MECHANICS
• For every correct answer in Level 1 and 2 has 1
point, and 2 pts for Level 3. The time for Levels 1
and 2 is 10 seconds, and for Level 3 is 15 seconds.
• The top two groups with the highest scores will be
awarded a prize. The group with the highest score
will also receive an additional 10 points for their
performance, the second highest scorer will also
have an additional 8 points for their performance and
the third highest scorer will also have an additional 5
points. The other non-top 2 scorers will have
additional 3 points.
