• 01 INTRODUCTION
• 02 OBJECTIVES
• 03 FUNDMENTAL PRINCIPOLES
• 04 IGBCRATING SYSTEM
• 05 SOME IMAGES OF GREEN BUILDING
• 06 DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BUILDING
• 07 BENEFITS OF GRREN BUILDING
• 08 CONCLUSION
Introduction:
• The beginning of the twenty first century has ushers in the era of green building.
Normal buildings use energy inefficiently, generate large amount of waste in their
constructions and operations and emit large quantities of pollutants and greenhouse
gases, In contrast to conventional buildings, green building seek to use land and
energy to efficiently, Conserve water and other resources improve indoor and
outdoor air quality.
• It increases the recycled and renewable materials whiule green buildings still
constitute a tiny subset of existing buildings, their numbers of increasing rapidly.
• Green building refersto both a structure and the application of processes that are
environmentally responsible and resource efficient throughout a building’s life- cycle
from planning to design construction ,renovation and demolition.
• Green building helps reduce the negative impact on the natural environment by using
less water ,energy, and other natural resources, emplying renewable energy sources
and eco friendly materials and reducing emissions and other wastes.
Objectives of green building:
• 01 Indoor air quality
• 02 Renewable energy
• 03 Improves occupants health
• 04 Envirnomental advantages
• 05 Reduction of operating cost
• 06 Air pollution
• 07 Economic sustainability
• 08 Increased property values
• Green buildings are designed to reduce the over all impact on human health and
natural environment by the following ways ;
• Using enery,
C
water and other resourses efficiently.
• By reducing waste, pollutoion, and environmental degradation.
Fundamental principles:

• Structure design efficiency

• Energy efficiency
• Water efficiency
• Materials efficiency
• Waste and toxic reduction
• Structure efficiency:
• It is the concept of sustainable building and has largest impact on cost and
performance.
• It aims to minimize the the environment impact associated with all life-cycle.

• Energy efficiency:
• The layout of construction can be strategized so that natural light pours for for
additional warmth
• Shading the roof with tree offers an eco-friendly alternative toair conditioning.
Water efficiency:
To minimize the water consumption one should aim to use the water which has been
collected, used,purified and reused.

Material efficiency:
Materials should be use that can be recycled and can generate surplus amount of energy
An example of power panels, not only they provide lightening but they are also useful
energy source.

Waste and reduction:

It is a probable to reuse resources.
What may be waste to us may have another benefits to something else.
IGBC Rating System:
(Indian Green Building Council)
• The Indian Green Building Counsil (IGBC) part of the confederation of Indian
industry (CII) was formed in the year 2001. The vission of counsils is, To enables
a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global
leaders in the sustsainable built environment by 2025.
• IGBC has developed green building rating programmes to cover commercial,
residential, factory building ,etc,.
• Each rating system divided into different levels of certification are as follows,
• ‘Certified’ to recognize best practices
• ‘Silver’ to recognize outstanding performances
• ‘Gold’ to recognize national excellence
• ‘Platinum’ to recognize global leadership
• The aim of the council is to bring green building movement in india and facilitate
India to became one of the global leaders in green buildings by 2015.
Some images of green buildings:
Different from other buildings:
• The design, maintenance and construction of buildings have tremendous effects on our
environmental and natural resources.
• Green Building is different from other buildings because it use a minimum amount of
nonrenewable energy, produce minimal pollution, increases the comfort , health and
safety of the people who work in them.
• It also minimize the waste in construction by recovering materials and reusing and
recycling them.

• Benefits of green building:

• Buildings have large effect on the environment ,human health and the economy.
• The successful adoption of the GREEN BUILDING development can be maximize both
the economic and environmental performance of the buildings.
Environmental benefits:
• Protect biodiversity and ecosystem.
• Improve air and water quantity.
• Reduce waste streams.
• Conserve natural resources.

• Economic benefits:
• Reduce operating costs.
• Create ,expand and shape markets for green products and services.
• Improve occupant productivity.

• Social benefits:
• Enhance occupant comfort and health.
• Heighten aesthetic qualities.
• Minimze stain on local infrastructure.
• Improve over all quality of life.
Conclusion:
• This research identified the exciting developments taking place on technology front and
analyses their implications for intelligent and green buildings, These buildings are
dynamic environments that respond to their occupation changing needs the
lifestyles. This research provided an documented evidence to educate and influence end
users, building owners, architects and contractors that a ‘greener building’ can be
achieved using intelligent technology and that this ” greening” will provide a tangible
and significant return on investment.
