COURSE OUTLINE
Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship for Built Environment

Course Objectives:

• To introduce strategic management concepts, frameworks and corporate


strategies for qualitative as well as quantitative analysis of a company,
particularly in the Built Environment Sector.

• To clear the confusions in enterprising minds and expose them to the


possibilities entrepreneurship can offer in a Built Environment set-up.

• It will also help the students in developing mind-set, attitude and required
skills that are necessary hallmark of a successful entrepreneur.

On successful completion of this module you will be able to:

• Demonstrate a systematic understanding and knowledge of strategic


management, particularly in the light of major contemporary debates such
as those focused on business stakeholders, business ethics, corporate
social responsibility, and sustainable development.

• Students will be able identify the significance of entrepreneurship in the


current economic scenario. They would be able to appreciate different
entrepreneurial attributes and will be able to comprehend various
challenges faced by the entrepreneurs in built environment

• Select and apply appropriate tools, models and theories to real business
organizations and their strategic management.

ventures capital investors in evaluating potential ventures.
• They would be able to outline various methods for generating ideas

Pedagogy for Course Delivery:

Learning outcomes include developing students’ knowledge with respect to


theoretical aspects and industry practice. Accordingly pedagogy for course
delivery includes theoretical lectures supported by industry case studies.
Student assignments would include individual and group submissions with
focus on presentations.
