AND HUMAN
SEXUALITY
• As you continue to grow and develop, it is important
that you know how to manage crucial aspect of your
personality,your sexual health.
• Sex is a major aspect of personality. It is closely related
to emotional and social development and can be best
understood by connecting to to the total adjustment of
the individual in the family and society
• The process of sexual development beginss to birth to
adulthood
SEXUALITY INVOLVES THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL,SOCIAL,EMOTIONAL,AND
ETHICAL DIMENTION OF ONES PERSINALITY

• Physical self – the way you look as a man or a woman


• Mental self – the way you think as a man or a woman
• Social self – the way you interact with others
• Emotional- the way you feel about your self and others
• Ethical self- the way you value relationship
SEXUALITY TOWARD YOUR SELF

• How you see your self


• How you feel about your self
• How you think of your self
• How you love your self
HEALTHY SEXUALITY ENCOMPASSES THE
FOLLOWING CHARACTERISTICS:
• Self love – youe acceptance to your self
• Self knowledge – your understanding of your feelings and your
character
• Self confidence – your awareness of the things you can do well
• Self respect – yoyr regards for your self as a worhwhile person
• Self expression- the way of showing your individuality in
expressing yourself as a man or woman
• Sex – the biological basis of being male or female
• Gender- a social concept on how men and women should think, feel, and
act. It refers to feminity or masculinity of a person’s role and behavior
• Gender equality – permits man and woman equal enjoyment if human
rights
• Gender role – refest to a set of roles,characteristics, and expectations of
how a man or woman should feel,think, and act as influence by parents
• Sexuality- integral part of what we do and who we are; it is the way in
which we experience and express ourselves as sexual beings.
USING LIFE SKILLS TO IMPROVE SEXUAL
HEALTH
• Assessing your health – means evaluating your well-being periodically,
this includes your sexuality.
• Making good decision - means making choises that are healthy and
responsible. You must have the courage to make dificult decisions and
stick to them
• Communicating effectively – Helps you avoid misunderstanding by
expressing your feelings in a healthy way
• Practicing wellness – Can he accomplished Through information about
good sexuality.
• Setting goals – or aiming for something will give you a sense of
accomplishment
• Refusal skill- a way to say no to something that you don’t want
to do. This skill require practice. But first you must feel srongly
about what things you want to avoid
• Evaluating media messages – is being able to judge worth of
media messages.it is a big challenge knowing that most media
messages are very convincing
STAYING A VIRGIN UNTIL MERRIAGE KEEPS
YOU:
Virgin – refers to a person who has not had sexual intercouse
Virginity – is the quality/state of being chaste

• Free from pregnancy and veneral deseases
• Free from having to choose a hurry- up weddimh and an
illegitimate child
2. Emotionally
• Free from exploitation by others
• Free from guilt , dout, dissapointment, and loss of reputation

• Free to degelope appropriate relationship with others
HOW DOES ONE STAY A VIRGIN?

spouse
• Act- choose friends with high standards, stay away
from danger and temptation. Be kind,firm, and proud of
your values
WHAT IS STI?

• Sexually transmitted infection (STI) also known as sexually transmitted


desease (STD)
- a comunicable disease that is spread by a pathogen (disease causing organism)
from one person to another person through sexual contact.
- a person who has a sexual relationship with someone who is infected can get
one or more of these deseases
- these infection are comonly caused by bacteria and viruses
WHAT ARE HIV AND AIDS?

• Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)


- Is a fatal communicable disease with no effective teatment or know cure.
- it is the final stage of infection caused by the human immunodeficiency
virus (HIV)
When HIV enters the body , it attacks the body’s immune system. Thus,the
body become vulnerable to opportunistic infections or diseases that develop
when the body’s defense system becomes weak.
Early symptome of infection eith HIV may include a
rash,sore throat, fever, and tiredness. Nearly everyone
with HIV develops AIDS. Perople woth AIDS cannot
fight of diseases that healthy people could easily resist.
Because AIDS has no cure, people with AIDS eventually
die from one diseases.
REPUBLIC ACT 8504 ALSO KNOWN AS THE
PHILIPINE AIDS LAW

• The state shall promote public awareness about HIV/ AIDS


through various modalities
• The state shall provide a mechanism for anonymous HIV testing
and shall guarantee anonymity and medical confidentiality in
the conduct of such test
• Te state also ensure safe practicesand procedures
regardingdonation of blood, organ, or tissue
R .A. 7729 OR THE BLOOD SERVICES ACT 1994

• This law protects and promotes public health through provisions related to
blood donation
• The government promotes voluntary blood donation as a humanitarian act
• To protect you from infections of any disease like HIV/AIDS Through
blood transfusion, this law lays down the legal principle That the provision
of blood for transfusion is a professional medical service and not a sale of
a commodity.
• People don’t have to sell blood as a commodity
