TECHNICAL INFORMATION
4. Wiring

• 4.1 Cable connection

• In general, flexible copper cable is used for wiring the inside of a switchboard. For an operating voltage of less than half the cable
insulating voltage or in other words < 500v , these cable are treated as belonging to lass 2. Consequently they may be secured
directly to metal supports without inserting an insulator.

• 4.2 Lug crimping

• A lug should only contain a single power cable, all the strands of the conductor should be located inside the lug barrel.
• Used crimp tools, of a suitable size , as recommended by the lug manufacture . Apply the tightening force specifited by the
manufacture of the crimp too. Tools should be checked at regular intervals.
• Hexagonal necking distributes the crimping in a uniform manner around the lug.
