NURSING CARE
NURSING CARE

Provide detailed information to the patient and their

family about osteosarcoma, its treatment options, potential
side effects, and the importance of adherence to the
treatment plan. Address any questions or concerns they
may have and offer resources for additional support.
NURSING CARE

Assess and manage the patient's pain using a

combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological
interventions. Monitor pain levels regularly, adjust pain
medications as needed, and provide comfort measures
such as positioning and relaxation techniques.
NURSING CARE

Assist the patient in maintaining mobility and

independence to the greatest extent possible. Encourage
regular physical activity within the limits of the patient's
condition and provide support for activities of daily
living. Refer to physical and occupational therapy services
as needed for rehabilitation and adaptive equipment.
NURSING CARE

Monitor the patient's nutritional status and provide

guidance on maintaining adequate nutrition throughout
treatment. Collaborate with dietitians to develop
individualized meal plans and address any nutritional
challenges or side effects of treatment.
NURSING CARE

Assess the patient's psychosocial needs and provide

emotional support throughout their treatment journey.
Encourage open communication, provide opportunities
for the patient to express their feelings and concerns, and
offer coping strategies and counseling services as needed.
NURSING CARE

Monitor surgical incisions and wound sites for signs of

infection or complications. Provide appropriate wound
care, including dressing changes, wound assessment, and
education on signs of infection.
NURSING CARE

If the patient's condition progresses to an advanced

stage or if palliative care becomes necessary, provide
compassionate end-of-life care and support to the patient
and their family. Coordinate with palliative care and
hospice services to ensure the patient's comfort and
dignity are maintained.
