Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern

Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and
honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing
in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It's also a jumping-
off point for paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal
mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.
HOW TO REACH

BY AIR –
• The nearest airport is Bhuntar, located at a distance of 50km from Manali and 10km from Kullu
• airport at Bhuntar is very well-connected with regular flights to important Indian cities like Delhi
and Chandigarh. From outside the airport, private taxis are available.
BY RAIL -
• The nearest railway station to Manali is Jogindernagar railway station, which is located at a
distance of 143 km from here.
• Chandigarh railway station (314 km) and Ambala Cantt Junction (342 km) are two other nearest
railway station, connecting Manali with other places in India, by train.

BY ROAD -
• Manali is well-connected to important tourist destinations of India such as Delhi, Leh, Kullu,
Dharamshala, Chandigarh, Ambala, Dehradun and Shimla.
• Apart from private taxis/cabs, private and state-run buses ply to Manali on a regular basis.

• Hadimba temple said to be dedicated to
Hadimba – the wife of Pandu son Bhima, is one
of the best places to visit in Manali city.
• The most striking feature of this temple is that
it is located in the Dhungri Forest and is
surrounded by pine trees
• The effigy of Hadimba is made up of brass and
is quite awe-inspiring.

This is one of the best places to visit in Manali for couples. It lies about 14 km from Manali and is the venue for one of the

 RAHALA
WATERFALLS
A famous picnic spot, Rahala waterfall is nestled Amidst Birch &
Deodar Forests and located almost 16 km away from Manali. The
source of these magnificent falls is the water melting from the
glaciers and precipitous rocks. Thick forest with birch and deodar
trees looks truly magnificent. Behind this impressive waterfall,
amazing views of snow-clad Himalayan ranges can be seen.
 ROHTANG PASS

It is one of the most beautiful passes in the whole

country. It offers picturesque views when covered with
snow in the months of winter in Manali. Located at a
height of 13,000 ft, it will surely give you goosebumps.
Many people from all over India and outside come here
for trekking and playing with snow.
NAGGAR
VILLAGE
At a short drive from Manali, Naggar Village is another beautiful destination that nature lovers
must visit. Situated on the left bank of River Beas

Things to do: Visit the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery, Tripura Sundari temple, and Gauri Shankar
temple.

MANALI
• Away from the rush and crowd of
any hill station is this area of Old
Manali.
• It is any backpacker’s haven with
rustic and charming cafes and
hostels for cheap stay options.
• It is a mere 2-3 km away from the
main mall road but seems like
an entirely different place.
• The ambiance is quite lively and
energetic in this part of the
city.

TREK
• It offers scenic views of Pir Panjal mountain that will surely leave you mesmerized.
