Remedial Instruction: What Is It?
Remedial Instruction is a programme:

● arranged for Y4 pupils who have temporarily fallen behind in their studies, specifically English
language
● that starts immediately after identifying their level of English proficiency on the CEFR scale and
helping them to catch up in the language.

A teacher usually:
● takes initiative in offering remedial instruction during the English lessons
● Before starting the intervention, schools may contact the parents/guardians to inform them on the
intervention and to ensure continuous support for the pupils, even at home.
