Directing study activities is telling
exactly what the students should do and
Supervising study activities is seeing to
it that students are doing correctly what
they are told to do and helping those who
need help.
Students must be directed to develop good study
habits, that is, develop the ability to:

1. Locate the sources of needed information, how to

secure and how to use such information;
2. Concentrate on the information being read;
3. Jot down adequate notes if necessary;
1. Master the ideas from the information gathered;
2. Make the summary report in proper form; and
3. Recall systematically from memory the ideas
contained in the information or data gathered
when needed.

see if the students are doing their work
correctly. The teacher assists those who are
doing poorly.
5. If the teacher observes that the majority of
the students have not yet attained the necessary
skill, he suspends the students from continuing
with the activity and he re-teaches the whole
process to the full understanding by the
students. Then he gives a signal to the students
to continue with the activity.
6. This time the teacher goes around again
to see if the students have already
acquired the skill needed in performing
the activity required of them. At this stage,
the students are expected to have already
acquired mastery of the skill being taught.
