INTRODUCTION
The knowledge economy has dominated the 21st century which resulted in
the prevalence of challenges and changes in the business environment.
The shift from an industry-based economy to a knowledge-based economy
has required businesses to invest in their intangible assets, especially in
knowledge in order to survive the changes in the business world.
According to the Department of Trade and Industry, as cited by Marketing
Research Philippines (2022), 99% of the 957,620 registered businesses are
SMEs.
