 Importance of Reading Newspapers
Newspapers are very important in our everyday lives. They provide us
with valuable information in our everyday lives. Through newspapers, we
come to know about different types of news — News related to different cities
and states, National News, Global or International News and News related to
sports activities. Some of these news may be useful or important for us while
some may be irrelevant to us. Through newspapers we get across or come to
know a lot of vocabularies which in turn enhances our knowledge and writing
skills. Reading newspapers daily also enhances our reading abilities. Although
with the advent of technology, the importance of newspapers has declined
steadily but still now it plays a crucial or important role in our everyday lives.
Even if we are technologically advanced, we should not forget the
importance of newspapers that have catered to our livelihood for decades.
 How you spent the New Year’s Eve and the
first day of the New Year
The first day of the New Year is celebrated throughout the world with much
excitement and enthusiasm. People welcome the new year by arranging parties and
bursting fireworks or crackers.
This time on the eve of the new year 2024, I and my friends decided to organise a
party at my home. Throughout the evening we sang and danced; ate different snacks, cakes,
cookies and soft drinks; and enjoyed a lot. At the stroke of midnight, we welcomed the new
year through a countdown of 10 seconds and exchanged new year’s message and blessings
with each other.
In the morning of the first day of the new year i.e. 1st January 2024, I wished “Happy
New Year” to all my friends, family members and relatives. Thereafter, I along with my
family members and some of my relatives decided to go to a picnic where we ate delicious
food, played with each other and enjoyed a lot. The entire day from morning to evening
went happily without any glitch. In this way I enjoyed the New Year’s Eve and the first day
of the New Year 2024 a lot.
 Autobiography of a Coin
I am a five rupees coin. I was born in the year 2005 in a production unit owned by
the government. After my birth, I was kept in a goadown or a store-room with other
coins of same or different dimensions. After staying there for a couple of weeks I was
loaded on a truck and sent to a distribution unit from where I was released in the
market.
My first owner was a businessman who kept me in his purse and took my care.
However this didn’t last long and one fine morning I was transferred to a grocery shop
owner where I was kept in the drawer for a couple of weeks. Here also I enjoyed a happy
life with other coins and notes of different dimensions and received care from the
owner. But one day I was released from his drawer and transferred to another person
who locked me up in his dark locker. My life became hell and boring and I was eagerly
waiting to explore the outside world. Time passed by rapidly and swiftly and I continued
growing old. One day I was finally released and I got transferred to a poor begger who
kept me a dusty corner of his tent. Till then, I am with the begger. Now I have grown
older and have become rusty and is waiting for my ban by the government.
