 Definition of Internship
• It’s a professional learning experience that
offers meaningful and practical work related
to a students field of study or career interest.
Also, It offers students opportunity for career
exploration and development and as well as
learning new skills.
 Aims or Objectives of Internships
• It’s a means of gaining experience and increase
marketability.
• Professionalism: Providing one with soft skills
( communication, leadership, problem solving)
needed in their work and leadership positions.
• Means of Building of ones resume.
• Means of Learning from others.
• Means of Learning how a professional
workspace operates.
 Presentation of company:
Company history
• Comparoshop is a Cameroonian startup which
came to life in January 2022 with objective of
being the bench mark for effective technological
solutions for online retailers in Africa and
beyond, and the African market leader in online
price comparison and negotiations.
• Comparoshop is basically a toolbox which makes
use of AI to facilitate E-commerce in Africa

Comparoshop disposes of the following tools.
• AI for product classification and categorization
• Augmented reality.
• Autonomous Multilingual chatbot.
• Site generator.
 Focus area:
Web Design and Development
My area of focus was on web development and design
where by I had to reproduce web pages and design a
websites based on skills newly acquired. I Built websites
such as a registration form and survey
form(questionares) for company usage.
Tools used where; VSC (Visual Studio Code), chrome,
windows operating system, intel core i5 2.8GHZ, 1TB
hard drive, 4GB RAM, 3G network.
Languages : HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Results of research could be seen at the level of the
appendice.
 Activities Carried out through out
internship
• Week1: Acquaintance with staff , talk on career path.
• Week2: Familiarization with companies tech tools and
services offered.
• Week3: Had access to company’s website, facebook page,
instagram page in order to get customers information or
details(online shops) interested in company’s services.
• Week 4: Had to contact all clients whose information I had
from the previous week with aim to sell company’s ideas in
the shortest time possible while ensuring I book a demo
(live visual illustration or presentation on how company’s
product works or functions .
• Week5: was taught basics of web development
HTML5 while making calls in order to book
more demos.
• Week6: Still in the fight of Booking more demos
while collecting more client information from
company’s social handle. Alongside studied CSS.
• Week7: more demos and was briefly taught
java script and PHP.
• Week8: was given couple of assignments and
problems, with solutions to be presented at the
end of week (registration form, survey forms)
 Analysis: comparism between theory and
practical
Differences:
• Knowledge from theory is intangible while that applied in
practical is tangible.
• Theory assumes a possible outcome while practice lets u test the
validity of the theory.
• Theory is based on assumptions while practical is concise and
accurate
Similarities:
• Practice is testing the validity of a theory and as well comes as a
result of a theory.
• Practice and theory are both interwoven, neither can do with out
the other.
 Challenges faced by both interns and
company
Intern’s challenges:
• Slow internet connection
• Being in a working setting was a first, so had to
adapt.
• Communication in both languages wasn’t really easy.
Company’s challenges:
• few numbers of employees.
• A baby enterprise, thus got lots of competition and a
lot people don’t know bout it yet.
 Recommendation
Due to the above mentioned shortcomings
experienced by the intern during his stay at
comparoshop, the following is recommended
as possible solutions for future improvement.
• Faster internet connection
• Better company publicity to create awareness
of its existence at the level of the population.
• Employment of more workers so as to ease
work flow.
