They are herbivores, eating marsh grasses, grasses and riverside grasses. It feeds mainly during dusk and night. They have
harem-type reproductive behavior (a male can have several females).

coypus. This animal is consumed for
its meat and in the past its skin was

Where they live
It lives on the banks of tropical swamps, lakes and rivers in much of South
America. Perfectly adapted to aquatic life, it swims very well and to escape from
its enemies it always seeks refuge in the water. If necessary, it is capable of
remaining submerged for quite some time.
