Search Objectives
 Detect sabotage devices placed on aircraft
externally .
 Detect sabotage devices or weapons placed
on aircraft internally .

 Appears to be attempt at concealment .

 Cabin, after Cleaning completed & Catering boarded .

En-Route Search
1. En-route stops with disembarking passengers, search
required .

2. No passengers disembarking and access controlled during


stop, NO search required .
3. After disembarkation reconcile pax. & hand bags , before
allowing anyone on board . After Cleaning & Catering ,and
before embarkation , carry on Security Search .
4. Ship’s Stores and Catering , locally boarded , must be
searched and/ or seal checked .

 After all passengers disembark .


 To ensure nothing left on-board .

General Principles
 Crew members’ baggage their responsibility.
 Searchers must be familiar with Aircraft type .
 Utilize appropriate Checklist .
 Necessary tools as required, flashlight, mirror,
screwdriver .

Aircraft Protection
 Passengers’ Security ; on top of Security Screening
include also Hand Baggage Screening & Hold
Baggage Screening .
 Hold Baggage have , ALSO , to satisfy a New
Security concept : RECONCILIATION =>
( Security Number )
No Passenger ……… No Bag

 Should be utilized for all searches .
 Provide thorough, methodical, time-
saving approach .
 Help avoid overlap or omission .
 Can be aircraft type specific .
