Scalene trapezoid
A scalene trapezoid has
four sides of unequal
length. The bases are
parallel but of different
lengths. The two legs are of
different lengths
Right trapezoid
A right trapezoid is a trapezoid with one
of its legs perpendicular to both of the
bases. In other words, it means that such
a trapezoid must contain two right
angles.
It should be our favorite type of
trapezoids - it's much easier to calculate!
It is because the height of the trapezoid
is equal to one of its sides
Properties of Trapezoid
The bases are parallel to each other.
The median is parallel to both the bases and
its length will be the average of the length
of the bases.
Sum of all the angles in a trapezoid is equal
to 360°.
The sum of the angles on the same side is
equal to 180°
Isosceles Trapezoid
A trapezoid with
opposite sides
that are
congruent.
Properties of Isosceles Trapezoid
The base angles of an
isosceles trapezoid are
congruent.
Opposite angles of an
Isosceles trapezoid are
supplementary.
Diagonals of an Isosceles
trapezoid are congruent
