One of the criminals who hung there,
hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!” Matthew 27:41-44
In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of
the law and the elders mocked him. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel! Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in him. Matthew 27:41-44
He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he
wants him, for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” In the same way the rebels who were crucified with him also heaped insults on him LUKE 23:40
But the other criminal rebuked him.
“Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? LUKE 23:41
We are punished justly, for we are
getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” LUKE 23:42
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me
when you come into your kingdom.” 1. He confessed his guilt. 2. He trusted Christ as Lord and King. 3. He personally asked Jesus. 4. He confessed his faith publicly. LUKE 23:43
Jesus answered him, “Assuredly,
I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” -G R A C E- God giving me what I don’t deserve. -G R A C E- • It makes us humble • It makes us realize we are temporary • It makes us look forward to eternity SAVING GRACE The grace given by God for us to have salvation. Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23 “but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Salvation is guaranteed by Jesus. Trust Him completely. If you are not saved today, it is dangerous to delay. Salvation is making Jesus your forever friend. Invite Him.
