Vocabulary
Ratio
a Ratio shows how many times one number contains another.

Or in simple terms, it is the comparing of two numbers.

Example

1.) Phase Form 2 to 3

2.) Ratio Form 2:3
3.) Fraction Form 2/3
What is Tangent Ratio?
Tangent Ratio
The tangent ratio of a triangle is the ratio of the side opposite
of an angle to the side adjacent to the angle which is not the
hypotenuse.
Tangent Ratio
The hypotenuse will always be the side of a right angle that
is across from the right angle. Consider the right triangle
ABC.
Tangent Ratio Formula

Tangent θ = Opposite/Adjacent
Tangent θ = OPP / ADJ
Tan θ = O / P
How to solve a
Tangent Ratio?

tan35° = a/17
a = 17tan35°
35°
a a = 17*tan(35)
17 a = 11.9
