 Objectives

 At the end of the lesson, the learner should be


able to:
1. Identify the parts of the PowerPoint Environment.
2. Open and Exit PowerPoint.
3. Create, open, save, and close presentations in
PowerPoint.
 Appreciate the basic processes in PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint, MS PowerPoint,
or simply PowerPoint is a slide
presentation program by Microsoft. It
enables us to create dynamic
presentations in a form of a slideshow.

A Slideshow is a series of slides of


information with text and objects that are
displayed on a screen using a projector

1. Quick Access Toolbar –It contains the commonly
used commands. We click the Customize Quick
Access Toolbar button found on its right-side to
add or remove buttons on the toolbar.

2. Title Bar- It displays the name of the file


and the program. The default name is
Presentation 1.

 3. Minimize, Restore, or Maximize, and Close
buttons.
–It contains the commonly used commands. We click the
Customize Quick Access Toolbar button found on its right-side
to add or remove buttons on the toolbar.

 4.Ribbon
-It is found below the title below the title bar. It
contains all the commands divided into groups or tabs we
need.

5. Slide Navigation
–It allows us to view and work with the slides in
our presentation.

6. Rulers
- These are located at the top and on the
left side of the current slide. These help us to
align the text and objects on our slide.

7. Slide pane
–It is where we can view and edit the selected slide.
It is also the main working area where we type the text
and place the objects.

8. Scroll Bars


- These let us see the part of the slide we want
to see by clocking, holding, and dragging the bars
vertically or horizontally.
Create a Presentation

The files we create in PowerPoint are called
presentations. We can create a new presentation from
blank or from a template.

To create a new presentation , we do the following


steps:

1. Click the File tab to access the Backstage view.


2. Click New, and choose Blank Presentation or a
template.
