ACTUAL APPLICATION
From the figure, determine the quantity of the following materials:
a. 10x20 cm. Glazed wall tiles
b. 20x20 cm Unglazed floor tiles
c. Cement and sand mortar
d. White Cement Paste Filler
Solution (by area method):

Solve for the wall area

A= 1.50m x 8.00m
= 12 sq.m.

Refer to Table 7-1, using a 10x20 cm. glazed tiles:

Multiply:
12 sq.m x 50 pcs. Per sqm.
=600 pcs.

Solve for the 20x20 cm floor tiles. Referring to table 7-1,

Multiply:
Floor area= 5.00x 3.00m
= 15sq.m.
15sq.m. x 25 pcs = 375 pcs.

Solve for cement mortar and paste filler

Total Area:
12+15 = 27sq.m

Referring to table 7-1

Multiply:
Cement mortar 27sq.m x 0.076 = 2.0 bags
White Cement 27sq.m x 0.50 = 13.5 say 14kgs.

Order:
600pcs - 10x20cm glazed tile
375pcs - 20x20cm floor tile
2 bags - cement mortar
