Poverty

Poverty is a state or condition in which a person or

community lacks the financial resources and essentials
for a minimum standard of living. Poverty means that
the income level from employment is so low that basic
human needs can't be met. People living in poverty
struggle to meet basic needs, including having limited
access to food, clothing, healthcare, education, shelter
and safety. People affected by poverty may also lack
social, economic, political or material income and
resources.
Homelessness

Homelessness is lacking stable and appropriate

housing. People can be categorized as homeless if they
are: living on the streets (primary homelessness);
moving between temporary shelters, including houses
of friends, family and emergency accommodation
(secondary homelessness); living in private boarding
houses without a private bathroom or security of tenure
(tertiary homelessness). People who are poor are
frequently unable to pay for housing, food, childcare,
health care, and education.
