1. The Great Wall of
China
• The Great Wall was continuously built from the 3rd century BC
to the 17th century AD on the northern border of the country as
the great military defence project of successive Chinese Empires,
with a total length of more than 20,000 kilometers.
2. Petra, Jordan
• The city of Petra, capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world,
it is Located 240 km south of the capital Amman and 120 km north of the red sea town of Aqaba (see the
Map), Petra the world wonder, is undoubtedly Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction,
and it is visited by tourists from all over the world.

• It is not known precisely when Petra was


built, but the city began to prosper as the
capital of the Nabataean Empire from the 1st
century BC, which grew rich through trade in
frankincense, myrrh, and spices.
3. Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
• Christ the Redeemer (Cristo
Redentor) is a 30 meter high statue,
mounted upon an 8 meter pedestal,
and of course the 700 meter high
mountain of Corcovado. It was
constructed between 1922 and 1931
from soapstone and reinforced
concrete. Today it is a Brazilian
cultural icon and global symbol of
Christianity
4. Machu Picchu, Peru
• Machu Picchu , Ancient fortress city
of the Incas in the Andes Mountains,
south-central Peru. Perched near
Cuzco in a narrow saddle between
two sharp peaks, at an elevation of
7,710 ft (2,350 m), it escaped
detection by the Spaniards, and its
existence was made known only in
1911 by U.S. explorer Hiram
Bingham.
5. Chichen Itza, Mexico
• Chichén Itzá, ruined ancient Maya city occupying an area of 4 square
miles (10 square km) in south-central Yucatán state, Mexico. It is
thought to have been a religious, military, political, and commercial
centre that at its peak would have been home to 35,000 people.
6. Roman Colosseum, Italy
• What is the Colosseum? The Colosseum
is an amphitheatre built in Rome under
the Flavian emperors of the Roman
Empire. It is also called the Flavian
Amphitheatre. It is an elliptical structure
made of stone, concrete, and tuff, and it
stands four stories tall at its highest
point.
7. Taj Mahal, India
• The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white
marble mausoleum on the south
bank of the Yamuna river in the
Indian city of Agra. It was
commissioned in 1632 by the
Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan
(reigned from 1628 to 1658), to
house the tomb of his favourite
wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
